10 Epic Mother's Day Gifts You Never Thought of
“The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.”
-Fr. Ted Hesburgh
None of us want to be that guy.
You know the one. …at the grocery store scrambling through the flower section at 8pm the day before Mother’s Day with the hollow urgency of a man willing to pay $80 for $20 worth of roses as long as he can walk out the door with them now.
Flowers are a great staple for our wives, but there’s plenty of room to kick it up a notch from there. Even then, I often wonder if I get stuck in “gift-ruts.”
“Did I get her the spa gift card LAST year or the year before? or was that her birthday?”
Guys aren’t always good at coming up with ideas, so we poked around and found a few ideas dads like us might find helpful.
Last year we shared a few interesting options, like:
- Gold Dipped Rose
- Monthly Gift Box options like Therabox
- Professional portrait of the kids
This year we have a few more to consider, sorted below by the feeling we’re looking to give her.
- Convenience: Alexa Show
- Keepsake: Personalized necklace with kids’ names
- Warmth: Comfy wearable blanket or weighted blanket
- Tranquility: Succulent plant
- Knowledge: Master Class Gift Card
- Comfort: Cloud Slippers
- Reassurance: What I Love About You book
- Choice: Love Coupons
- Fun: Talk, Flirt, Dare card game
- Rest: SmartSleep Sunrise Wakeup Light
DJOTW:
I asked an old man I know, “Even after 95 years, you still call your wife ‘Darling’, ‘Honey’, ‘Love’. What’s the secret?”
Old man: “I forgot her name 10 years ago and I’m scared to ask her”.

Our wives are a blessing to us and the kids. Let’s be sure to take time this week to plan something nice for her that shows her how special she really is.
To stronger, balanced dads…
